Koala Driving Academy is a proud family-owned and family-operated business, built on the belief that safe drivers create stronger communities. Every member of our family plays an active role in the business, bringing care, accountability, and personal commitment to everything we do. For us, driver’s education isn’t just a service-it’s a responsibility we take to heart.

Founded by Janay Jones-Clark and Chris Clark, Koala Driving Academy provides complete driver’s education courses for new drivers preparing for licensing in the State of Louisiana. Janay and Chris are deeply committed to delivering high-quality instruction that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become safe, responsible drivers on the roads we all share-both in our local communities and beyond.

At Koala Driving Academy, we emphasize the importance of understanding the rules of the road and the level of responsibility required to operate a vehicle safely. Our goal is not only to help students pass a test, but to shape lifelong driving habits. New drivers develop essential skills such as safe driving attitudes, hazard awareness and avoidance, and a strong understanding of traffic laws and best practices.

Our program begins with a comprehensive classroom phase that provides a well-rounded educational foundation. Instruction is based on the official Louisiana Class E Driving Manual, AAA’s How to Drive program, and enhanced with current video resources and engaging in-class activities. Students learn how to manage visibility, time, and space in traffic, while building the awareness and quick decision-making skills needed to respond to real-world driving situations.

The second phase moves students behind the wheel in our dual-brake training vehicle. Under the guidance of a certified instructor seated in the passenger’s seat, students apply classroom knowledge to real driving conditions. This hands-on experience reinforces proper driving mechanics, decision-making, and safe operating practices.

Once both phases are successfully completed, Koala Driving Academy offers the Louisiana OMV Road Skills Test directly from our facility. Students drive a state-approved route in our training vehicle, demonstrating their ability to safely operate a vehicle and confidently share the roadway with others.
